Ruta Gedmintas (born August 23, 1983 in Canterbury , Kent , England ) is a British - Lithuanian actress .

Life

Her father comes from Kaunas , the second largest city in Lithuania . Ruta Gedmintas herself speaks the language very little. She grew up in Stockholm and Buckinghamshire , England. There the Lithuanian with a British passport visited the Drama Center London . She also attended the University of Arts in London .

After several semesters under the direction of Reuven Adiv , she made her acting debut in the role of Shelly Martin in the series Waking the Dead . This was followed by roles in the series Goldplated , The Innocence Project , The Tudors and The Bill . In 2009 she took on her first role in a feature film as Alexandra in the drama-comedy Last Minute Baby and the action thriller The Lost Samaritan . The following year a guest role in the drama series was followed by Personal Affairs and an appearance as Suzy in after-Dark - Horror prowl . She played a leading role in Lip Service from 2010 to 2012 . There she embodied part of a lesbian couple. Between 2011 and 2012 she took on the role of Ursula Bonadeo in the HBO series The Borgias . After moving to the United States in 2012, she took on a role on the short-lived NBC drama series Do No Harm in 2013 .

She lives in London with her boyfriend, actor Luke Treadaway .
