Julian Clarke

Julian Clarke (born September 3, 1977 in Vancouver ) is a Canadian film editor .

Life

In 2000, Clarke graduated from the University of British Columbia and then started working mainly as a film editor from Vancouver. For the short film Canadian Zombie he also took over the direction and writing of the script in 2002.

As an editor, he initially worked for less well-known films and numerous short films. He worked with director Carl Bessai on a number of projects , including the 2003 film Emile , in which Ian McKellen starred, and Unnatural & Accidental , for which Clarke won a 2007 Leo Award for Best Editing . Bessai's zombie film Severed - Forest of the Dead and the video game adaptation Postal by the controversial German director Uwe Boll are also part of Clarke's work.

Clarke had a great success with the science fiction film District 9 by director Neill Blomkamp . At the 2010 Academy Awards , he was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Editing category. Even with the BAFTA Awards , the Satellite Awards , the Online Film Critics Society and the Eddie Awards of the American Cinema Editors , he received nominations for his performance.
