Anna Bro

Anna Clemensen Bro (born February 15, 1980 in Funen , Denmark ) is a Danish playwright .

Life

Anna Bro was born on Funen. She is the daughter of actress Vigga Bro and Hans Henrik Clemensen . Her uncle is the actor Christoffer Bro and her cousins are the actors Anders Peter and Nicolas Bro , as well as the actress Laura Bro . She grew up in the Christianshavn district of Copenhagen and, due to her family's professions, had contact with the Danish theater at an early age. After she founded her own theater group at the age of 18, she trained as a playwright from 2001 to 2004 at the renowned dramatikeruddannelse , an institute affiliated with the Aarhus Teater .

During her studies she made her debut as a playwright in 2003 with the one-act play Jægergårdsgade , which was premiered in Det Kongelige Teater and named after the street of the same name in Aarhus . With her second play, Forstad , premiered in Mungo Park in 2005 , she and her co-writer Martin Lyngbo received a nomination for the renowned Danish theater award Reumert for best playwright . In 2014 she finally received the award for her piece Varmestuen .

Bro is in a relationship with the Danish actor Pilou Asbæk and has a daughter with him, Agnès, who was born on December 31, 2012.
