Marko Matvere (born February 4, 1968 in Pärnu ) is an Estonian actor and singer.

Marko Matvere graduated from Tallinn Conservatory in 1990 (now the Estonian Academy of Music and Drama ). He then worked in the ensemble of the renowned Tallinn City Theater ( Tallinna linnateater ). In addition to his acting work at the theater, Matvere has participated in numerous Estonian films and television series and sings in musicals (including Les Misérables , Dance of the Vampires and Miss Saigon ). Matvere also staged some musicals himself (including Chicago ) and the opera Carmen in the Endla Theater in Pärnu. Together with Jaanätte , he appears as a songwriter with pieces he has written himself .

In 2002 Matvere hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn together with the Estonian opera singer Annely Peebo .

In 1992, Marko Matvere received first prize in the Young Actors category at the Toruń International Theater Festival, in 1996 the Estonian Theater Association Prize and in 1995, 1996, 1998 and 1999 the Tallinn City Theater Prize for Best Actor. In 1996 he was awarded the Ants Lauter Prize .
