Erica Vaal

Erica Vaal Roberts (* 1927 ; † October 17, 2013 in Staatz , Lower Austria ) was an Austrian presenter and actress .

Life

After studying at the Max Reinhardt Seminar , she appeared in supporting roles in several feature films from the 1950s to 1960s, and she also played theater. After moderating the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in 1967 , she was hired by the newly founded Ö3 broadcaster as a radio presenter. She then hosted a program for Latin American music until the late 1980s . Erica Vaal herself had spent a number of years in Mexico .

Erica Vaal Roberts was married to the Feldkirchen ( Carinthia ) born actor and writer Paul Robert Roberts (actually: Paul Robert; 1932-2014) until her death . A daughter, the film producer and author Kyra Pahlen (* 1962), had a first marriage with the film producer Victor Pahlen (1907–1981 ).

Erica Vaal died on October 17, 2013 at her place of residence in Staatz , Enzersdorf 86, at the age of 86. Her grave is in the local cemetery.
