Ronan Keating
Ronan Patrick John Keating [ ˈɹəʊnən ˈpætɹɪk dʒɒn ˈkiːtɪŋ ] (born March 3, 1977 in Dublin ) is an Irish singer .
Career
In 1993, Keating began his career as a pop singer in the boy band Boyzone . The band was very successful with various number 1 hits and four albums.
In 1997 he hosted the 42nd Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin with Carrie Crowley .
In 1999, Keating also became co-manager of the band Westlife . Then he started a quite successful solo career.
As part of the Live 8 concerts, Keating played on July 6, 2005 at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh ( Scotland ).
Keating composed and wrote Denmark's contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow .
From 2010 to 2014 he was a jury member for the Australian edition of the casting show The X Factor . At the beginning of the seventh season he was replaced by James Blunt .
After a break of almost four years, Keating's ninth solo album Time of My Life was released in February 2016 . Since May 1, 2016 he has been one of the coaches in the Australian edition of the talent show The Voice .
Personal
Keating was born the youngest of five siblings in a middle-class Irish family. His father Gerry owned a pub , his mother Marie worked as a hairdresser .
In 1998, Keating's mother died of breast cancer . The family founded the Marie Keating Foundation to provide better prevention and education about the disease .
On April 30, 1998, Keating married Irish model Yvonne Connolly. They have a son (* 1999) and two daughters (* 2001, * 2005) together. On May 20, 2010, Ronan and Yvonne Keating announced their split after Keating cheated on his wife with his backing dancer. Only a few weeks later, Yvonne forgave her husband and gave her marriage a second chance. Both moved into a new house with the children. Although they tried to work on their problems for two years after that, their marriage could not be saved. In April 2012, Yvonne and Ronan Keating announced the final failure of their marriage and separated after 14 years together.
On August 17, 2015, Ronan Keating married Australian producer Storm Uechtritz in Scotland. Their son was born in April 2017; a daughter followed in March 2020.
social commitment
Ronan Keating's social commitment includes his support for Deutsche Krebshilfe in the fight against cancer. The singer advertises cancer prevention and cancer screening on the aid organization's website . Both as a soloist and with his band Boyzone, Keating is always a participant or initiator of various charity campaigns .
