This article deals with the history of Kazakhstan as a participant in the Eurovision Song Contest .

Regularity of participation and successes in competition

Kazakhstan's channel Khabar was accepted as an associate member of the EBU on December 18, 2016 , with the ESC being broadcast in Kazakhstan since 2010. As of 2018 , associated members will also be able to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest at the invitation of the EBU. This rule change is being made to "legalize" regular Australian participation . In addition to Australia and Kazakhstan, 18 other countries from all five inhabited continents besides Europe would be eligible to participate if they were invited. Kazakhstan is already a participant in the Türkvizyon Song Contest initiated by Turkey . Shanar Dughalova , the winner of the 2014 Türkvizyon , has announced that she would be positive about representing Kazakhstan at the 2018 ESC.
