This article deals with the history of Serbia and Montenegro (also Serbia-Montenegro ) as a participant in the Eurovision Song Contest .

The country first entered the competition as Serbia-Montenegro in 2004. At the time when Yugoslavia last participated in 1992, only Serbia and Montenegro belonged to the country, so that this contribution can also be described as the first Serbian-Montenegrin contribution. Performers from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia also took part in the 1992 national preliminary decision.

Between 1993 and 2003, the country was closed to participation. From 2004 it could participate again. The selection was made in Serbia with the Beovizija festival and in Montenegro with Montevizija . The interpreter for the Eurovision Song Contest was then determined from the 10 best from the respective selection process in the joint final selection process Evropesma-Europjesma . The Serbian television company RTS was responsible for the 2nd place in Istanbul in 2004 . A year later in 2005 in Kiev , the Montenegrin television TVCG came 7th.

In Athens in 2006 they did not take part in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest due to discrepancies in the joint preliminary decision Evropesma-Europjesma, but they were still allowed to participate in the awarding of points. The Montenegrin jury was accused of the Serbian favorites by Flamingosi feat. Boycott Luis and instead support their favorite group No Name . After they could not agree on a common participant for Serbia-Montenegro, they withdrew from the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. Croatia benefited from the withdrawal and advanced to the final instead of Serbia-Montenegro.

The confederation disbanded in June 2006. Serbia and Montenegro have been sending their own contributions to the Eurovision Song Contest since 2007.
