Türkvizyon 2014 ( Turkish Türk Dünyası Türkvizyon Şarkı Yarışması 2014 ) was the second Türkvizyon Song Contest . The show was held in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, more precisely in the local capital Kazan. 25 countries and regions took part in 2014.

Germany made its debut with the Cologne TV station Türk Show . Iran, Albania, Turkmenistan, Moscow and Bulgaria also took part in the competition for the first time.

Kazakhstan won the competition with Shanar Dughalova and the title Izin körem .

venue

Kazan is the capital and largest city in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. With 1,143,535 inhabitants, it is the seventh largest city in Russia. Kazan is located at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka rivers in the European part of Russia. The Tatneft-Arena hall was opened in 2005 and can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors. There was space for 9,000 spectators for the competition.

Rules and Budgeting

  • Participants who took part in the final of the Türkvizyon in 2014
  • Participants who were eliminated in the semifinals of the Türkvizyon in 2014
  • Countries that have participated in the past but not in 2014
  • In order to avoid that, as in the previous year, the titles and participants are only determined days before the competition, the deadline for determining the participant was set for September 30, 2014. This could be done either through a public selection or an internal selection. As with the Eurovision Song Contest , the contributions were no longer allowed to be a cover version, like the Ukrainian contribution in 2013, but did not have to have been published beforehand for the competition. In addition, each participating country, including the host from Tatarstan, should contest the semifinals on November 19th, so that they can move into the final two days later.

In order to promote the republic before the event, it was stipulated that each participating broadcaster had to broadcast a promotional film about Tatarstan and the competition between 15 and 90 seconds.

The costs for the competition were covered by the Republic of Tatarstan, the hosting broadcaster Maidan TV and the broadcasting company TMB as well as various investors. It was assumed that the equivalent of 2.2–2.6 million euros.

    Semifinals

The semi-finals took place on November 19, 2014. The starting order was drawn on November 17, 2014. The twelve best-placed countries and regions in the semi-finals should originally qualify for the finals. However, there were inconsistencies in the voting, with Bosnia & Herzegovina receiving three points too many and Turkmenistan giving itself five points. Thus, if Bulgaria, Yakutia and Bosnia & Herzegovina had a tie, the first two should have qualified for the final.

On November 20, 2014 it was announced that 15 countries would participate in the finals, including Bulgaria, Yakutia and Azerbaijan.
