Türkvizyon 2017 ( Turkish Türk Dünyası Türkvizyon Şarkı Yarışması 2017 ) should be the fourth Türkvizyon Song Contest . The show was originally supposed to take place in Istanbul , Turkey , at the end of 2016 , but was postponed due to the domestic political situation as a result of the attempted coup in July 2016 and later canceled for the time being due to a legal dispute over the rights of the competition.

venue

Astana (Nur-Sultan since 2019), the capital of Kazakhstan, was chosen as the venue. The venue would have been the Saryarka Velodrome cycling track , which can accommodate almost 10,000 spectators.

Attendees

26 countries and regions had confirmed their participation, which would have set a new attendance record. The Russian republics and regions, which were prevented from participating in Istanbul in 2015 due to the political crisis between Russia and Turkey, returned to the Türkvizyon in 2017.

The regions of Dagestan and Stavropol, representing the ethnic groups of the Kumyk and Nogaier, as well as the countries of the Netherlands, Latvia, Poland, Sweden and Moldova, which was previously only represented by the Gagauz ethnic group, wanted to make their debut.
