Blame It on the Bossa Nova

Blame It on the Bossa Nova is a 1963 by Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann written hit , in the version of Eydie Gormé an international success was and 7th in the US Billboard Hot 100 reached -charts. It became a number one hit in Australia, South Africa and Sweden . Eydie Gormé also sang a Spanish-language version called Cúlpale a la bossa nova . This version sold over 250,000 times in Spain, Latin America and Italy.

In the German version sung by Manuela , Schuld was only the Bossa Nova with a text by Georg Buschor , the song also became a number one hit and stayed in the German charts for seven weeks in 1963. Because of the section of text "When little Jane was just 18, Jim took her to the dancing bar, but the next day mom asked, child, why were you there this morning?" The song was not played by the Bavarian radio .

In 1963 Manuela sang the song in the film Im singenden Rößl am Königssee by Franz Antel .
