After being released as a single, the song quickly became a bestseller. It reached number 3 in the German single charts and was Jürgen Marcus' last top ten hit. It also made it into the top ten in Switzerland.
In March and April 1975, Marcus was with the song twice in a row at number 1 in the ZDF hit parade .
