Our song for Lisbon was the German preliminary decision for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2018 in the Portuguese Lisbon . The event took place on February 22, 2018 in the Studio Berlin Adlershof .

The show was moderated by Linda Zervakis and Elton . Mike Singer performed his song Deja Vu during the break . Directed by Volker Weicker , the script was by Christoph Schulte-Richtering and Christian Busemann.

Michael Schulte won with the song You Let Me Walk Alone . He reached fourth place in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest and thus the first top five placement since 2010 .

format

In 2018, a Eurovision panel, which consisted of 100 people from Germany, because the German televoting result over the past few years was almost congruent with the European viewer result, and an international jury of 20 to 25 people participated in the selection of the German contribution Members already had ESC experience in their respective home countries as part of the national jury. In a live show, television viewers from Germany had the opportunity to vote for an artist via televoting. Margaret Berger , the Norwegian participant from 2013 announced the points for the jury, Anke Giffhorn (a member of the 100-member Eurovision panel) on behalf of the panel, and the result of the televoting was announced by Jon Ola Sand , Executive Supervisor of the ESC.

The NDR worked with 17 performers to get an impression of the singing and stage presence of the candidates. The Eurovision panel and the international jury then selected the six participants for the German preliminary decision. From January 10th to 12th, 2018, a song writing camp took place where the songs for the performers were worked on. As the venue that served Studio Berlin Adlershof in Berlin .
