The Jenkins Glacier is a glacier on South Georgia . It flows south of the Risting Glacier in an easterly direction and flows into the head end of the Drygalski Fjord .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it as part of its surveying campaign, which lasted from 1951 to 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after the British historian James Travis Jenkins (1876-1959), who dealt with the history of whaling . The designation made by Wilhelm Filchner during the Second German Antarctic Expedition (1911–1912) as Drygalskigletscher after Erich von Drygalski did not prevail, also because of the lack of geographical separation from the neighboring Risting Glacier.
