Annelie Faber-Wegener (born Annelie Faber ; * June 27, 1959 ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2005 to 2019 she was mayor of the Saarland city ​​of Blieskastel .

Life

She did her Abitur in 1978 at the Helmholtz-Gymnasium Zweibrücken and then studied with a degree in administrative management (FH) . She has been a civil servant in the city of Blieskastel since 1979. There she was, among other things, women's representative and municipal equal opportunities officer .

Annelie Faber-Wegener was a founding member of the Junge Union in the Altheim district of Blieskastel .

She is married and has two daughters and a son and a grandchild.

In the direct election of the mayor of Blieskastel on April 10, 2005, Annelie Faber-Wegener was able to prevail with 51.81 percent of the votes cast against the long-time incumbent Werner Moschel ( SPD ), who had been mayor of Blieskastel since 1987. In the runoff election for the mayoral election on September 16, 2012, Faber-Wegener was re-elected with 58.9 percent of the valid votes. She had to go into the runoff election because she lacked 14 votes for an absolute majority. The new term of office ran until 2019. In the mayoral election in 2019, she lost in the runoff against Bernd Hertzler (SPD).

In the German Association of Cities she is a member of the main committee, in the Saarland Association of Cities and Towns she is a member of the Presidium.
