Sascha Reimann (born October 2, 1973 in Neuwied ) is a German musician , rapper and actor . He became known as Ferris MC . From 2008 to 2018 he was a permanent member of the band Deichkind under the new stage name Ferris Hilton (based on Paris Hilton ) .

Life

Reimann spent his childhood in Neumünster , Kiel and finally in Bremen - Tenever . In almost all of his pieces of music he addresses his eventful, not very happy childhood and youth.

He achieved the advanced secondary school certificate and graduated as a car mechanic - without a driver's license . He also appeared on radio and television as an actor and speaker (e.g. in Not from Bad Parents ).

Together with Immo Wischhusen alias FlowinImmO and DJ Pee, he founded the Freaks Association Bremen (FAB) in the early 1990s, in addition to high school and training in Bremen , which quickly caused a stir in the German rap scene, which was then just emerging . Soon they appeared on programs at VIVA , MTV and various events and festivals . In 1995 they released the first album Freaks on the small hip-hop indie label MZEE , which is still appreciated in the scene today. In 1997, FAB dissolved after massive private and artistic problems, which resulted mainly from Reimann's excessive drug use and Immos' outbreak of manic depression . Allegedly, FAB were about to be taken over in a large record deal.

In 1998 Reimann moved to Hamburg after several personal and financial problems and joined the Mongo Clikke , where he found a foothold so that he could get his problems under control and concentrate on his musical work. He moved in with Tobias Schmidt, alias Tobitob from the five stars deluxe group, and found a concert DJ in DJ Stylewarz . He was also featured as a feature on albums by other rappers and won several national music awards. In 1999 he released the single Reimemonster with Afrob , which was a great success. In the same year Reimann released his first solo album Asimetrie and then parted ways with DJ Stylewarz. His second album Fertich! it released in 2001. Both the album and the first single Flash For Ferris MC did not meet commercial expectations. His third album Audiobiography followed in 2003 . To this was directed by Timo Rose , the short film Ferris MC & DJ Stylewarz vs. the living Dead (also known as Ferris MC's Judgment Day ), which was only shown on the accompanying tour. This was followed by a feature with DSDS fourth-placed Vanessa S. on the song Fiesta and in 2004 - for the time being (see below) - his last regular self-titled album.

In 2004 he starred in the splatter film Lord of the Undead by the amateur film director Timo Rose . In autumn 2005 he was directed by Dominik and Benjamin Reding ( Oi! Warning ) for the movie For the Unknown Dog in front of the camera, in which he played the character of the journeyman Festus in a leading role . The film was released in late 2007.

On March 17, 2006, his single Düstere Legenden was released , a decoupling from the best-of album of the same name, which was released on March 31, 2006 and contains numerous remixes . With the musician Marc Thiel alias Marc Deal he ran a new musical project, the house and electronic duo Maniax, under whose name they toured various clubs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as live DJs.

In 2007, the original pilot episode appeared from Charlotte Roche's mission truth or dare with YouTube on. This was Roger Willemsen , Kitty of Mia , Kim Fisher and Ferris MC to guest. With the words “For television probably with too much anal content. But really great on the internet! ”The episode was never broadcast on television.

At the beginning of 2008 Reimann accompanied the Deichkind group on their spring tour . After Deichkind member " Buddy " left the band after this tour, he initially became a temporary substitute member. After the band was satisfied with Reimann after numerous festival appearances , he has been an integral part of the band since the album Arbeit Nervt and has since performed under the name "Ferris Hilton".

Reimann played in the 2009 film Big Trousers and was subsequently seen in several productions (e.g. in Tatort ).

In 2015 Reimann toured with Deichkind, but at the same time went solo again: The result is the album Glück ohne Scherben , released in May . In May 2016, Ferris MC became the face of the advertising campaign for the website builder Wix.com and its “I'm a wanker” advertising campaign. On February 17, 2017, Ferris Hilton's seventh solo album Asilant was released , which received scathing reviews. In March he ended his career as a rapper and announced that he would henceforth produce electronic music under the name "Ferris".

In October 2018 Reimann left the band to devote himself to his solo career and in December 2019 released the EP Phönix aus der Klapse with Swiss . He is now also a member of his Missglückte Welt label .

Music genre

Ferris MC's style of music is characterized by its very hard music for hip-hop . Various songs even go in the direction of crossover or techno , especially on the album fertich! the hard, fast beats can be recognized ("Reimemonster Part 2"). His guitar riffs used in “Nacht der Freaks” and “Düstere Legende” are atypical for rap, his techno-related songs can be recognized particularly well on the maxi CD Nacht der Freaks and on some remixes of his best-of album Düstere Legenden . In terms of content, his lyrics vary greatly, from rap-heavy songs to songs in which he describes the life of his and his best friend to declarations of love for his "elixir of life" (meaning cannabis ) and extremely brutal lyrics against the press and other musicians or his ex-girlfriend, although names are rarely mentioned. In contrast to various other rappers, Ferris MC does not value a gangsta rap image. Many of his texts also revolve around excesses of violence or drugs; Instead of bragging about success or status symbols that is typical of the gangsta, however, the focus is on life at the bottom of society and the personal and material problems associated with it.
