FlowinImmO or ImmO for short (born September 23, 1975 as Immo Wischhusen in Bremen ) is a German rapper . He is one of the veterans of German hip-hop .

Life

Immo Wischhusen grew up in his native Bremen and completed his school days there. At the beginning of the 1990s he founded the rap music group Freaks Association Bremen (also FAB. ) Under the stage name FlowinImmO or ImmO for short, together with Sascha Reimann (alias Ferris MC, Ferris Hilton since 2008) and DJ Pee , who is no longer active in the music business ). Her first album Freaks was released in 1995, followed by various singles and in 1997 the ERiCH private EP , which is the last release. After a dispute between Ferris and ImmO, FAB broke up at the end of 1997.

Ferris then moved to Hamburg, while ImmO initially stayed in Bremen. In 2000 he recorded the album Terra Pi on his own and released it on his own label Immonopol . At the end of 2001 he was the first hip-hop artist to tour Southeast Asia for the Goethe Institute and played concerts in Jakarta (Indonesia), Singapore and Bangkok (Thailand).

In 2002 Immo Wischhusen moved to Berlin , where he worked with various local hip-hop artists and began producing another solo album. As a result of his appearances in Bangkok, ImmO was invited by the Association of Christian Boy Scouts to the 20th World Scout Jamboree , which took place in Thailand at the end of 2002 / beginning of 2003 and where he gave rap workshops . From 2002 to 2007 he performed annually at the splash! -Festival near Chemnitz on the stage of the Festivalguide booth, where he brought freestyles and interviewed national and international hip-hop artists. In 2005 the single Weltschmerz was released , for which a music video was produced under the direction of Andreas Schaap , and the album Grenzlose Freiheit .

With his live band Les Freaqz he played numerous concerts in German-speaking countries. In spring 2006 he worked in Berlin at the Komische Oper as Guglielmo in the HipH'Opera production of Mozart's Così fan tutte . He was guest vocalist on the title Morgen yesterday on the 2006 album Far Away from Clueso . At the 21st World Scout Jamboree 2007 in England, he and his colleague Basti from Les Freaqz gave another rap workshop. In 2009 FlowinImmO represented the federal state of Bremen at the Bundesvision Song Contest with Urlaub am Attersee and took 11th place.

In May 2009 there was a scandal in Bremen at the “A Song for Europe” competition when ImmO, as a member of the jury at the award ceremony, loudly described a contribution by Bremen elementary school students as “European fascist” and misjudged its tone. At a subsequent “Europe” event on the following day, he was then more conciliatory by a. worked out a song with the first and second placed students in the competition, but without apologizing for his behavior.

At the end of May 2014, ImmO's fourth album closed society was released , which he financed in part through crowdfunding . In this interview and the one for the album, he openly addressed his bipolar disorder . In autumn 2014 he toured Germany with his new backing band The Hoo. He sells his records independently through his own label.

Immo Wischhusen has been running a cultural project in Hemelinger Hafen since 2016 . The project under the name "The Complete Range" deals with music and theater. The students of the Hemelinger Wilhelm-Olbers-Oberschule take part in a cooperation. This project is a social sculpture.
