history

The label was founded in 1997 by Jan Eißfeldt after no major label wanted to sign the Dynamite Deluxe group he supported . The demo tape was then published independently. This was followed by more tapes, which contained exclusive freestyles from the until then still quite unknown MCs, such as Samy Deluxe , Das Bo , Eißfeldt and many more. The first vinyl release was an EP by Dynamite Deluxe, which, due to its cult status, was also released in digital form years later. It was only when the label gained popularity that digital sound carriers were also released via Eimsbush, but without exception all releases continued to be released on vinyl.

In the Eimsbush environment, the Mongo Clikke existed from 1997 to around 2002 , an amalgamation of various hip-hoppers who also released some tapes.

Singles by various artists from the Eimsbush environment were published under the Style Liga project . Artists without a record deal or with another record deal were also part of the project, for example Dendemann ( Eins Zwo / Yo Mama ), B-Low and Tobby Digg from Digger Dance / Eimsbush, Falk ( Doppelkopf / Hong Kong Recordings), Ferris MC ( Yo Mama), Mr. Schnabel ( Showdown ). All artists appeared under a pseudonym, "to save the guilty". A joint tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland followed.

In 2001 these single releases, which until then were only available on vinyl, appeared for the first time as a digital sound carrier on the joint sampler "Style Liga Compilation Vol. 1". “Hamburg City Heftig” was a live sampler that once again brought together all the artists from the local area. Later there was also a second part of this series.

Although the most famous act Dynamite Deluxe switched to a major, the Hamburg label became more and more famous and successful. Rappers who lived outside of Hamburg, such as D-Flame from Frankfurt and Charnell from Berlin, were also signed. The last joint sampler was called Team Eimsbush and contained exclusive tracks from all Eimsbush artists. Posse track 2, 4, 6, 8 MCs was released as a single and rotated on MTV / VIVA.

In addition to sound carriers, merchandise items such as t-shirts, beanies, caps, sweaters, shirts, jackets and accessories were designed and sold.

On September 19, 2003, the label filed for bankruptcy . The reason for this is explained by a quote from the now defunct Eimsbush website:

“Afterwards you are always smarter, it just doesn't work without rules and laws. Diligence, punctuality and all these German, creative-killing attributes. There must be hierarchies. Employees and artists seem to have to be enslaved and patronized ... Maybe we would still be there without DSL, Brenner, Euro and Depression, but the sum of all these parts is: Shot in the neck! "
