Illo (* 23. August 1977 in Marseille as Oliver Ress ), also known as Illo 77 and Illo the shit , is a German rapper and hip-hop - producer , formerly a member of the Mongo Clikke was. The German-Frenchman, who comes from France , grew up in Hamburg-Eppendorf .

Life

Illo started rapping in 1997, enthusiastic about his classmate Samy Deluxe , initially in French, his second mother tongue. In the next time he rapped with Denyo 77 and was heard on K2 with the beginners , the album by Samy Deluxe and as a partner of Nate Dogg .

He made his first appearance in 1998 as a playback double for Denyo on The Dome . In 2001 he was voted Newcomer of the Year by the readers of Juice . Illo's first single was No Time and was released in 2000 on vinyl and maxi CD.

In 2001 he went on the 60 Hertz tour with Jan Eißfeldt and Denyo 77 .

Until 2003, Illo was under contract with the Hamburg label Eimsbush and worked with producer Simon Vegas on his album Illosion . Shortly before the mastering, the label filed for bankruptcy and Illo was left without a contract. The album never came out.

As a result, he worked with his friend Samy Deluxe on his newly founded label Deluxe Records . In the late summer of 2004, tracks by Illosion were released as a maxi with the name Wehr Dich including a video, the EP was released via EMI.

In 2005, Illo published Hamburg's Finest Mixtape Vol. 5, Illo the Shit - Back like digested food , which includes a low-budget video for the track Dies ist (feat. Dashenn from the headliners ).

July 20, 2007 appeared on Deluxe Records debut album Illos Who if not I? with the single Sie Ist… (feat. Emory). A low-budget video of Besser nicht was also shot. The song Oh My God was selected as the second single . Emory is also represented on this. The track is also on the 80's flashback album.

For this new album, Illo was on the AbiTour '07 tour through Germany in 2007 together with Spezializtz and Snaga & Pillath.

Illo had his own edition on Deluxe Records, the Tracksetters.

Since 2013, Illo has been running an international model agency under his real name.
