Margaret Berger (born October 11, 1985 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian pop singer .

Career

Berger grew up on Hitra . She sang in a gospel choir and started writing her own songs at the age of twelve.

Berger came second in 2004 in the casting show Idol: Jakten på en superstjerne , the Norwegian version of Pop Idol . In October 2004 her debut album Chameleon was released , which reached fourth place in the Norwegian album charts. In the same year she won the Spellemannpris for the music video in the Song Lifetime guarantee . In 2006 she released her second album Pretty Scary Silver Fairy .

In 2013 Berger won the Melodi Grand Prix , the Norwegian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 , with the song I Feed You My Love , and thus represented her home country in Malmö , Sweden . Was written I Feed You My Love from the songwriter Karin Park and the producer duo Macho Psycho . Park did not want to sing the title himself and remembered Berger's appearance on the casting show, whereupon she offered the singer the song. In the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 she reached the 4th place with 191 points.
