Anne-Karine Strøm (born October 15, 1951 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian singer and participant in several Eurovision Song Contests . She is the mother of the composer Marcus Paus .

Melodi Grand Prix

Anne-Karine Strøm took part in the Norwegian preliminary round of the Melodi Grand Prix six times :

  • 1971: "Hør litt på meg" - 10th place
  • 1972: "Håp" - 4th place
  • 1973: "Å for et spill" (as a member of the Bendik Singers ) - 1st place
  • 1974: "Hvor er du" - 1st place
  • 1975: "1 + 1 = 2" - 4th place
  • 1976: "Mata Hari" - 1st place

Eurovision Song Contests

Since the group Bendik Singers won the preselection, they were allowed to represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 1973 in Luxembourg . Her multilingual swing title It's Just a Game was awarded 7th place. A year later, Anne-Karine Strøm won the shortlist alone. Your Disco Song The First Day of Love ended up at Euro Vision Song Contest 1974 in Brighton in last place. Also in 1976 she was allowed to travel to the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 , this time to The Hague . There she had to be satisfied with last place again. Her disco title Mata Hari received just seven points.
