Arne Bendiksen
Arne Joachim Bendiksen (born October 19, 1926 in Bergen ; † March 26, 2009 ) was a Norwegian singer , composer and music producer .
Life
Bendiksen was a member of The Monn Keys group in the 1950s . Later he worked mainly as a composer for other artists such as Wencke Myhre , Hanne Krogh and Kirsti Sparboe . He took part in the Eurovision Song Contest several times , once as a singer (1964) and then several times as a composer. Åse Kleveland achieved the best placement in 1966 with third place. In contrast, Kirsti Sparboe ended up in last place in 1969 with just one point. In 1964 he founded his own record company, where Wencke Myhre published among others. In 1995 he received the Spellemann Prize and in 1996 he was awarded the Norwegian Gold Medal of Merit by King Harald V.
