Jostein Hasselgård

Jostein Hasselgård (born March 24, 1979 in Fredrikstad ) is a Norwegian pop singer .

He started playing the piano at the age of six and studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music as a young man . In between he was briefly employed as an educator in a kindergarten . As a rather unknown singer, he won the Norwegian pre-selection Melodi Grand Prix 2003 and was therefore allowed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga . His ballad I'm Not Afraid To Move On took fourth place. With his band Hasselgård he released the album A Few Words in 2006 . Since 2010 he has been singing tenor with the Norwegian a cappella group Pust .
