Merethe Trøan

Merethe Trøan (born May 19, 1970 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian singer .

In her teenage years, Merethe Trøan was part of the pop group Pastel with her sister and two brothers. In 1985 the group took part in the Melodi Grand Prix and reached 3rd place with their title Ring Ring Ring . An album was also released at this time. In 1992 Merethe Trøan had better luck as a solo singer: She won the Melodi Grand Prix and was therefore allowed to compete for Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 in Malmö . With her hit Visjoner , however, she only reached 18th out of 23 places.

After the contest, she became active as a voice actress and could be heard in the Norwegian version of Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book 2 .
