Sverre Kjelsberg
Sverre Kjelsberg (born October 18, 1946 in Tromsø ; † June 19, 2016 there ) was a Norwegian musician .
Live and act
He achieved national fame from 1963 to 1967 as the singer and electric bassist of the Norwegian rock band The Pussycats , with whom he recorded ten singles and two albums. In 1970 he began studying music and then worked at the theater as a composer and actor. As a politically engaged solo artist, he released his debut album in 1979. Together with Mattis Hætta , he won the Melodi Grand Prix in 1980 and therefore competed for Norway in the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest . With the title Sámiid ædnan , the duo landed at number 16. In the Norwegian charts, the title was number one for four weeks .
