Quarterhead

Quarterhead , consisting of Josh Tapen (born July 28, 1994 as Tapen Josua Skraburski ) and Janik Riegert (born August 16, 1993 ), is a music producer and songwriter duo founded in 2010 .

history

Josh & Janik met at the age of 15 in their hometown Wetzlar and founded the “Quarterhead” project, which was set up as a band.

In order to make contacts in the international music industry, they traveled to Los Angeles during their high school graduation . Only a few months later they were signed by the managers Jan-Simon Wolff and Julien Weiß. The first projects included the soundtrack for the worldwide Mercedes-Benz A-Class campaign and the musical development of YouTuber Die Lochis , whose debut album #Zwilling reached number 1 in the German charts and gold status in Germany and Austria. It was also nominated several times for the Echo .

In 2016 the music publisher Sony / ATV signed the duo. This was followed by a record deal with Virgin Records . Quarterhead then worked on songs and productions by u. a. Wincent Weiss , Ofenbach , Alle Farben , Schiller , Elaiza , Psaiko.Dino , Ilira , Le Shuuk , Prinz Pi , Kayef , Alexander Knappe , Toksi & Dardan , Benjamin Ingrosso and Jack Curley with.

In 2018 music manager Stefan Dabruck signed Quarterhead. In the same year they released official remixes for Grammy Award winners Dan + Shay , The Backstreet Boys , Taio Cruz & Hugel, Robin Schulz and Ofenbach .

Quaterhead took part in the 2018 radio single Paradise by the DJ duo Ofenbach. The song reached number 3 on the French radio charts and after a few months gold status in France. At the end of May 2019 the Single Comfort Zone by Alle Farben & Quarterhead was released. The album Sticker on My Suitcase from Alle Farben followed a month later , on which Quarterhead contributed to the songs Comfort Zone and Different for Us . Different for Us , the current single from Alle Farben, reached the top 10 of the German radio charts. The tracks "Ofenbach - Insane" and "LUM! X x Mokaby & DTE & Gabry Ponte - The Passenger" also made it into international radio charts.

The production studio in her hometown of Wetzlar, as well as trips to Berlin, Stockholm, London, Amsterdam and Nashville are an important basis for her work.
