Kayef (* 20th November 1994 in Dusseldorf , civil Kai Fichtner ) is a German rap - and Pop - musicians from Dusseldorf. Since 2019 he has been selling his music through the self-founded label Kayef Media .

Career

Beginnings

Kai Fichtner was born in Düsseldorf in 1994. At the age of twelve, he first came into contact with German hip-hop music through his brother. From 2006 he began to write and record his own texts, using productions by well-known rappers as a musical basis. The songs resulting from these recordings were published by Fichtner on the social network Myspace . He then formed the pseudonym Kayef from the initials of his real name. From 2009 he began to use the video portal YouTube to present his music and to increase its reach. The first release was the song Rap is Therapy , which was part of the album Therapy at the time. Kayef also uses the video portal to present music videos, making-ofs, interviews and recordings from his everyday life. From June 2011, two albums together with Liont and the solo release Hipteen were released in digital form via Kayef's production company Kayef Media .

In 2014 Kayef was under contract with the multi-channel network TubeOne Networks for half a year . This supports YouTubers through cross-promotion in expanding their reach. For further musical publications, Kayef entered into a cooperation with Takeover MGMT, which still operates as Takeover Music . At the same time he switched to the independent music distributor Groove Attack , which means that his publications can also be found in stationary retail . On August 1, 2014, the single Never Again Nobody was released , which Kayef had recorded with Liont. First solo albums Relicts from last night and Chaos

On November 14, 2014, Kayef's first regular solo album Relicts was released last night . So far, 20,000 units of the album have been sold. From February 6, 2015, Kayef presented the album as part of the "Relics Last Night Tour". He was accompanied by T-Zon on the tour that included 18 appearances . By the beginning of 2015, the number of its YouTube subscribers had increased to 350,000. In total, Kayef's videos received 30 million views. In mid-July 2016, the music video Weck mich nicht auf was released as the first release from Kayef's second album Chaos . Chaos rose to position 4 in the German, position 24 in the Austrian and position 72 in the Swiss charts. Kayef reappeared at the 2016 Videodays in autumn. Establishment of Kayef Media

At the beginning of 2019, Kayef parted ways with Takeover MGMT after many years of cooperation and registered their own label under the name Kayef Media . Since then he has taken care of his own management, his own music publications and their marketing. In April 2019, Drama was released as the first single on the platform. After Do you remember? , a joint song with Liont, he released the first singles for his fourth solo album with Raindrops and Wahnsinn at the end of the year , which was created in Topics Studio in Solingen.
