Last Night's Relicts is the second solo album by German rapper and singer Kayef . It was released on November 14, 2014 via the labels Kayef Media and Takeover Music. The distribution is taken over by the Cologne-based company Groove Attack .

production
The recordings for last night's relics were made in the Topic Studios in Solingen . Tobias " TOPIC " Topic was responsible for the production of the entire album. In addition, Kevin Kleinmann was also involved in the creation of most of the songs as a co-producer. The pieces Solo , Spotlight and Das geht auch über were produced exclusively by TOPIC. Davide Catalano & Ersin Türkmani joined Tell me nothing of love , Jascha Baum joined Never again nobody and BTHVN If that's all as additional producers. The mixing that followed the recordings was largely done by Tobias "TOPIC" Topic. Yunus “KINGSIZE” Cimen was responsible for mixing some of the songs. With the mastering, Cimen also took over the last production step of Relicts last night . This took place in the Homeboy Studios in Düsseldorf .
Versions
Last night's relics came out as a Standard Edition, Premium Edition, and Deluxe Edition. The Premium Edition contains a DVD in addition to the 15 pieces of the Standard Edition. This documents the creation process of the album. The deluxe edition contains two bonus tracks with the songs Rockstar and No matter .

The photos for the booklet of the album were shot by Marvin D. Ströter. Ströter also took on the subsequent design of the artwork .

In addition to using his YouTube channel for marketing in the form of making-ofs , interviews or statements , music videos were produced for some of the songs. In mid-September, for example, the theme song Relicts last night was released as a video. This was produced by Wevame Medienproduktion . Marvin Ströter was responsible for the direction. As a second piece, Wir sein was implemented visually. This production was also taken over by Wevame Medienproduktion and Marvin Ströter. At the end of October 2014, a music video for Again , which was shot in Paris, followed. There was also a video release for Forever Young .
The song Never again nobody appeared on the sampler The Dome Vol. 71 .

Last night's relicts entered the German album charts at number 17. This makes it the musician's most successful release to date. However, the album could only stay in the charts for a week. In Austria, Relict reached number 28 last night . The album also entered the charts at number 86 in Switzerland. In August, the song Never Again Nobody entered the German and 52nd Austrian charts at position 55. The title song of the album Relicts last night reached number 100. In addition, the track Wir sein was able to position itself at number 98.
criticism
The e-zine Laut.de rated relics last night with one of a possible five points. From the point of view of the editor Laura Sprenger, Kayef resembles the rapper Cro in Forever Young , although there is no trace of " his stifled looseness and annoying-sympathetic nature ". The song Tell me nothing of love 2014 has the potential to become the next trash hit in the best ' breathless ' tradition due to its catchiness .
