B-case

B-Case (born November 13, 1991 in Bielefeld ; real name Matthias Zürkler ) is a German music producer and deejay . B-Case became known through hip-hop productions for rappers such as Farid Bang , Kollegah and Fard, as well as many other German hip-hop artists. Since 2013 he has also been active in the field of pop and dance music as an author and producer, so he achieved high single chart placements through his participation in The One for Aneta Sablik and Achterbahn by Helene Fischer . Furthermore, he began to be active as a solo artist in 2013 and celebrated his breakthrough with the songs House Party with DJ Antoine and U-Jean and Perfect Day with DJ Antoine and Shontelle . He has also been active in Latin pop since the end of 2017 and landed a top 10 hit in Spain with his Spanish-language debut single Déjate llevar , among others with Juan Magán . In songwriting and producing he works closely with the German musicians Nico Santos and Chris Cronauer as well as the duo Djorkaeff & Beatzarre .

biography

2009–2011: beginnings as a producer

B-Case's interest in Hip Hop arose while on vacation in the United States, which also gave him the pseudonym "B-Case". At the age of 13 he started rapping and developing his own beats, later concentrating only on producing and writing. Then the Augsburg hip hop group DrauferAlsDrauf became aware of him and he joined the band. In 2009 he appeared for the first time as an independent producer of the song G's die jung on the album Selfmade Chronik II . As a result, at the end of 2009, B-Case produced five songs for Kollegah's album Zuhalterertape Volume 3 . In the following years he worked with various rappers across Germany, including Fard , Farid Bang, Kollegah, Raf Camora , Summer Cem and gained a lot of attention in the hip-hop scene.

2013 to 2014: breakthrough as a solo artist

In an interview, B-Case said that he set himself the goal of primarily producing across genres. He produced his first remixes in the field of house and dance music for Akon , Timati , Busta Rhymes and Mia Martina, among others . Together with his manager, he sent a selection of demo recordings to the Swiss DJ and producer DJ Antoine , who then completed four of these songs with him for his studio album Sky Is the Limit . There was the song House Party , which was later released as a single. The American singer U-Jean contributed the vocals . The song became a commercial success in several European countries. The album track Perfect Day , which was recorded together with the Barbadian singer Shontelle , also attracted attention.

In 2013 he met the German singer and songwriter Nico Santos , with whom he recorded the song Feel It . The Swiss producer Jack Holiday and rapper Tony T. also participated in this . In late autumn 2013 he published the title Big Spender with the Swiss singer and songwriter Maury . In December 2013 he released the club track Show Me You Duckface Bitch .

On April 14, 2014, in collaboration with Nico Santos, he released the single Lucky L , which, along with the western style of the song, is based on the comic character of the same name . The music video is also set in the wild west . The song made it to number 7 on the international dance charts, number 5 on the national dance charts and number 2 on the official BRAVO charts, as well as number 8 on iTunes Dance.

In May 2014 the song Supernova followed , which he produced for the Danish X-Factor participant Babou. This was recorded in an English language as well as a Danish language version. It was used as the title track of the Danish reality show Paradise Hotel . The song advanced to number 8 on the Danish charts and achieved platinum status. Together with the producer Duo Beatzarre & Djorkaeff , he produced the winning song by DSDS participant Aneta Sablik . This was called The One and rose to number 1 on the official single charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In autumn 2014, B-Case published the song Friends in cooperation with the German DJ and producer Starjack and unlabelled vocals by Nico Santos . A few weeks later the song Symphony appeared , in which he was a guest musician for Nico Santos. The track was released as a promotional version on the Internet in spring 2014 in order to participate in a vote for a selection for the soundtrack of the German comedy father's joy. After the song narrowly missed victory, the song was re-recorded, revised and released on October 17, 2014 via B-Case's own record label 13th Sound . After a very short time, Santos and B-Case made it into the extremely competitive Top 100 of the Radio Airplay Charts in Germany with more than 500 plays per week on the radio. In addition, they achieved the highest new entries of their release week in the Bravo and International BVD Charts.

2015 to 2016: hip-hop productions

On April 24, 2015, B-Case released the single Upside Down . The track is also based on this genre , following its future house-heavy remix for Mr. Da-Nos and Nico Santos' Holding On . Upside Down entered the official German dance charts at number 22. In the same year he co-produced the song Home by the German producer Topic together with Nico Santos. This developed into a commercial success in Western Europe but also in Australia. He also contributed several tracks to the album Back to the Future by the German duo SDP , to the album Gewachsen aus Betong by George Boateng alias BTNG and to the album Asphalt Massaka 3 by Farid Bang.

In 2016 he contributed large parts of the studio album Engel with AK from German rapper Seyed , which entered the German album charts at number one. The song MP5 included also made it into the German single charts. Rapper Kollegah acted as a guest musician, for whom he produced the songs Apokalypse and Russlandconnection in the same year . He also worked with rapper Ali Bumaye , which resulted in five songs for his album Rumble in the Jungle . One of these was the song Sex For No Reason , which turned out to be a hit. The rapper Shindy contributed a guest part, for whom he produced the song Statements in the same year .

2017 to 2018: activity in Latin pop

After landing a commercial success as a songwriter and composer for Helene Fischer's song Achterbahn in October 2017 , he worked with the Spanish musician Juan Magán in autumn 2017 . The Spanish-language song Déjate llevar emerged from this collaboration , in which singer Belinda and singer Manuel Turizo also participated. This developed into a commercial success in Spain and achieved double platinum status. Nico Santos supported her with the songwriting. At the same time he acted repeatedly as an author for the German DJ projects Stereoact and Gestört but GeiL . Singer and songwriter Chris Cronauer is an integral part of his team.

In 2018, four more productions for Juan Magán followed, in which he is listed twice as a featuring artist. All four made it into the Spanish singles charts. He was also influenced by the Latin pop style in his solo single One Puff . He was supported by the singer Iyaz and the hip-hop duo Jowell y Randy . He also produced eight of the 18 songs on Fard's seventh studio album Alter Ego 2 and his single Du bist anders , which was recorded with Ardian Bujupi . He produced the song Drecksjob for Kollegah and Farid Bang .
