Maurizio Pozzi (musician)
Maurizio Pozzi (stage name Maury , previously also Morris ; * 1974 in Basel ) is a musician , music producer and songwriter . He grew up as the son of Italian immigrants in Switzerland and lives there.
Career
Maurizio Pozzi started playing the guitar at the age of 9 . His love for music led him as a teenager to choose a musical career over a possible tennis career . After having learned countless guitar riffs , he used the instrument to compose and produce songs he sang himself. From the beginning of the 2000s, he used his experience and skills as a composer and producer for various Swiss musicians, including Natacha and DJ Antoine , with whom he made the Swiss charts several times . In summer 2005 he composed and produced the official song for the Street Parade 2005 Today Is Tomorrow together with DJ Tatana .
He began his solo and band career under the stage name Maury in autumn 2005 with his debut single I Wanna Know , which was used for the launch of the Xbox 360 game console . The song became an airplay hit and stayed on the radio charts for over six months. The video clip for the single temporarily achieved the highest rotation on the music channel VIVA .
In February 2007 he released his debut album The Best Is Yet To Come under the name Maury . He also composed, produced and sang the official song for the Street Parade 2007 Respect! . In 2008, Heart of Gold was the official Swiss song for the 2008 Summer Olympics for Swiss television .
He provided vocals for many songs by DJ Antoine such as B. All We Need or Broadway . In addition to his work in the field of studio recordings , Maurizio also appears regularly at concerts and open air events . In May 2007 he was also in the Zurich Hallenstadion in the opening act for Deep Purple and in July 2007 at the Moon and Stars Festival in Locarno in the opening act for Pink .
From 2012 to 2013 he worked on many songs on DJ Antoine's album Sky Is the Limit as a producer, guitarist, songwriter and singer. He was the sole singer in the songs Hello Romance and All I Live For . At Perfect Day he worked alongside Shontelle as a background singer.
With the German House - DJ Manian , known as a DJ and producer of numerous dance projects, such as Cascada , RIO or Spencer & Hill , Maury recorded the song Cinderella in the summer of 2013 . This was released as a single on July 26, 2013 via Zooland Records . In addition to the "Video Edit", the remix of "Crew Cardinal" was also popular.
Pozzi also appeared on the album Green , released in August 2013 , by the Swiss DJ Mr. Da-Nos as a singer of various songs. Thanks to all downloads alone, his songs on the album reached the Swiss download and dance charts. Shortly thereafter, he announced that he was working on a song with Mike Candys . From this emerged the track Miracles , released in February 2014 , which debuted at number 17 in the Swiss charts.
