SDP is an all-round musician duo from Berlin-Spandau , consisting of Vincent Stein (born October 10, 1983 ) and Dag-Alexis Kopplin (born July 15, 1983 ).

The two musicians Vincent Stein , also known in the German hip-hop scene as the producer “ Beatzarre ”, and Dag-Alexis Kopplin met as young people in Berlin-Spandau . In 1999 they founded SDP, then still under the name Stonedeafproduction , today the abbreviation SDP is used as the official band name. They published their first demo in 2002 with attack from Berlin . Jürgen Kuttner from You FM did the intro for the show Nightline .
Several other recordings followed after the debut album Räuberpistolen , but the breakthrough only came in 2010 with the song Ne Leiche from the album contrast program . The accompanying video with rapper Sido as a prominent guest became a video hit and reached over 51.1 million views on YouTube (as of July 2020).
In 2012 the duo achieved their first chart entry at number 51 in the German album charts with the album The Most Famous Unknown Band in the World . Sido was once again a guest on the song Die Nacht from Friday to Monday . This was followed in 2013 by the album Bunte Rapublik Deutschpunk , which landed at number 4. Numerous guest appearances are included on the album. Eko Fresh , Keule, Weekend and Bass Sultan Hengzt can be heard among others .
In 2015, Back to the Future was released , which continued the success of its predecessors and advanced to number 2 in the German album charts. Prominent guests were again represented with Trailerpark , Mad Maks , Adel Tawil and Frauenarzt . The well-known voice actor and actor Manfred Lehmann (including Bruce Willis and Gérard Depardieu ) has been won over as the speaker for the radio play .
2015 coverte the hit -Star Peter loose their song The night from Friday to Monday and released it as a single on iTunes and Amazon .
The Colorful Side of Power (2017 to 2018)
On March 10, 2017, SDP released their album The Colorful Side of Power , which immediately reached number 2 in the German album charts.
The Most Infinite Story (since 2019)
A new album and tour was announced in November 2018. A few days later, the first advance video "Illegale Hobbys" was published on YouTube. The album The Infinite Story , released on March 1, 2019, entered the German album charts at number 1. Feature guests on this SDP album included Bela B , the 257ers and Capital Bra .
In 2019 the band celebrated their 20th anniversary with a concert on August 10, 2019 in Wuhlheide Berlin. Advance ticket sales started on September 2, 2018. Just three weeks later, the show was sold out with 17,000 tickets sold. The 257ers opened the evening, guest appearances by Bela B., Weekend, Teesy, Capital Bra and others followed.
The Infinite Tour 2019 , which was announced at the end of November 2018 with 18 dates in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, was supplemented by The Infinite Tour 2020 in March 2019 . In September 2019, the tour planned for October and November was postponed to spring 2020 “for very personal reasons”. This means that a total of 34 shows are planned in four countries from February to April 2020.
Furthermore, SDP composed the song The Best Day Ever , which served as the theme song for the TKKG film released in 2019 .
At the beginning of 2020, on the occasion of the corona pandemic, a modified version of the song Die Nacht was published as a single from Friday to Monday with the appendix "(Corona Edition)".
Music style and lyrics
SDP use many different styles, which they combine with one another, they cannot be assigned to a specific genre. They describe their music as “somehow pop” and are committed to musical diversity. In this respect, they understand their album title, Bunte Rapublik Deutschpunk , as a program. Musically included are elements of pop , rock , dance and hip-hop . Musical stylistic devices are both guitar sounds and synthesizer passages, the duo plays fast party tracks as well as ballads . The songs are said to have a catchy tune .
In their exclusively German-language texts, SDP deal with everyday matters and global political issues side by side, but mostly with a satirical and ironic undertone. Political statements are not presented in a striking way, but rather hidden in the mostly fun and entertaining texts. Musical parallels are often drawn to the happy music of the Prinzen and Die Ärzte , but also to the ironic hit star Alexander Marcus and rap acts like Sido, in the more serious songs to Die Toten Hosen .
