Alexander Marcus (born June 26, 1972 in Berlin ; actually Felix Rennefeld ) is a German music producer , singer , entertainer , film producer, screenwriter and actor.

Life

Marcus liked to give bizarre, contradicting answers to questions about his life in various interviews. Various media then portrayed Alexander Marcus as an artificial figure , an interpretation of himself that Marcus later contradicted. He doesn't like to reveal details about his real biography. Starting in the late 1990s, he was still producing house music under his real name, Felix Rennefeld . He achieved the greater popularity with the publications as Alexander Marcus . Marcus signed a contract with Kontor Records and released his debut album Electrolore on June 6, 2008 , on which there is also a guest contribution by Frauenarzt & Manny Marc .

Style and reception

His music is a mixture of modern electronic club music and absurd sounding hit - like lyrics . He pushes the genre-typical banality of the texts to extremes. B. celebrates absurdities like a fictional island called papaya, his love for Hawaiian toast , his globe or a box. He describes his music as Electrolore , a mixture of words from electro and folklore . Alexander Marcus exaggerates the clichés of pop music and supplements them in his music videos with trash artifacts such as an omnipresent plastic globe that bears the name "Globi", sex toys or drug consumption. A recurring detail are his dance choreographies, which, unlike the deliberate cheap video aesthetic, are professionally presented. As a rule, Marcus wears pink trousers as a trademark, which he combines with white shoes. The trousers also form the “A” in the logo's last name. Another feature is a broad smile, the stiff artificiality of which has been discussed in the press, along with gelled hair. Further recurring details are a sweater knotted over the shoulders, jackets in bright colors and with various patterns or a medal-decorated fantasy officer's jacket.

Motion picture

On January 27, 2009, Marcus and Jarko Nikolitsch founded JAFE Entertainment UG , which is responsible for the sales of merchandising, event management and the production of his film Glanz & Gloria .

Before the shooting was carried out, fans were able to vote on the film title via internet voting. The film was shot between July and August 2011 and was released in German cinemas on May 31, 2012. The accompanying soundtrack was released on January 6, 2012.
