Creation and artwork

Breaking Me was written by the two interpreters themselves - under their real names “Alexander Tidebrink” (A7S) and “Tobias Topic” (Topic) - together with co-authors Molly Irvine and Rene Miller. Topic was responsible for the mixing and production. The mastering took place under the direction of the Berlin sound engineer Lex Barkey .

On the front cover of the single - in addition to the artist's name and song title - a damaged teddy bear can be seen against a magenta background. The teddy bear's stomach and left eyes have burst open, from which the filling is oozing out. There is a plaster over the right eye and there are several scratches on the rest of the body. The bear holds a sewing needle and sewing thread in his hands.

content

The lyrics to Breaking Me are in English . Translated into German , the title means something like “break me”. The music and the text were written and composed jointly by Molly Irvine, Rene Miller, Alexander Tidebrink (A7S) and Tobias Topic (Topic). Musically, the song moves in the area of house . The tempo is 122 beats per minute . The key is A flat minor . In terms of content, Breaking Me is about simply dancing away your "heartache".

The song is based on an intro , two verses and a chorus . The song begins with the short intro, which only consists of the line "La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la", before the first verse with its four lines follows. The first verse is followed by a so-called “pre-chorus” before the actual refrain follows. The first chorus is followed by the second stanza, again consisting of four lines, and the second chorus at the end of the song. Topic only works as a producer on the piece, the vocals were completely taken over by A7S.

"And I'll be singing, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
You're breaking me, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. (3 ×)
I'm just right here dancing around to the rhythm.
The rhythm that you play when you're breaking my heart.
You know that I can't get you out of my system.
Yeah, right from the start, you played with my heart.
And I'll be singing, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
You're breaking me, la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. (3 ×)
You're breaking me. "

- Refrain, original excerpt

“And I'll sing. La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
You break me La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. (3 ×)
I'm in the right place, dancing around to the rhythm.
The rhythm you play when you break my heart
You know I can't just throw you out of my life.
Yes, from the start you played with my heart.
And I'll sing. La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
You break me La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. (3 ×)
You break me. "

- Refrain, translation
