Hermann Willeke (born October 19, 1929 in Sundern-Hagen ; † September 27, 2017 ) was a German civil servant and local politician for the CDU in Sundern .

Life

He was born as the second son of master hairdressers Bruno Willeke and Johanna Willeke. After graduating from secondary school in Sundern, he began his administration apprenticeship in 1948 at the Sundern administration. From 1948 to 1994 he was in the service of the office and later the city of Sundern. Only from 1966 to the end of 1969 was he not in Sundern, but head of the main department of the Olpe district administration .

In February 1970 he came back to Sundern and had - from February 1971 as official director - the task of founding the city of Sundern from 19 municipalities as part of the municipal reorganization of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and subsequently creating essential elements of an urban infrastructure. This included in particular the school center with sports halls, swimming pool and the establishment of the municipal high school. The conversion of the old Maybaum company into a new town hall adapted to the size of the town and the subsequent move of the town administration there was also a milestone in his work.

On January 1, 1975 the municipal reorganization was completed and the city of Sundern was created. Hermann Willeke was elected the first city ​​director of Sundern on May 23, 1975 . He stayed that way for almost 20 years until the beginning of his retirement on October 1st, 1994. When he passed - as the only citizen of the city of Sundern so far - he was awarded the ring of honor by Mayor Franz-Josef Tigges by mayor Franz-Josef Tigges.

In addition, Hermann Willeke was active in numerous associations and initiatives well beyond his active service. So he was z. B. After his term of office he was a member of the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis for the CDU, of which he was a member from 1958, for another 5 years . Furthermore, he was significantly involved in the establishment of the “Verein Altenhilfe eV” and, as its chairman, was involved in the renovation and expansion of the old town hall into today's “Seniorenhaus St. Franziskus”. Until 2014 he was 37 years, including 10 years as chairman, on the board of the Sauerlandklinik, one of the largest specialist clinics for multiple sclerosis in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Willeke had two daughters and two sons, the older of whom will run as an independent mayoral candidate for Sundern in the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2020 .
