German dance charts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Dancecharts (currently Dance Top 20 ) is a chart analysis by the market research company GfK Entertainment that is published weekly. It contains the most successful dance singles on the music market and are the official dance charts in Germany.

General information and qualification criteria

The dance charts are compiled by the German market research company GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Music Industry Association . They record sales of image or sound carriers , downloads and music streaming with dance as the end consumer. The allocation to the dance genre is determined by registering in the PHONONET article master (program types 113 or 196). These are “ repertoire charts” that depict the “dance” market segment. If video or sound carriers are identified as dance products in the PHONONET article master, but obviously do not belong in this repertoire segment (incorrect labeling), GfK Entertainment should disregard messages, provided the responsible distributor agrees. In cases of doubt, the examiner will decide. The German dance charts are an excerpt from the regular Top 100 singles , in which sales are recorded independently of any repertoire segment. A parallel placement of a product in both the Single Top 100 and the Dance Top 20 is therefore not only possible in principle, but will be the rule for products that sell well. For the Dance Top 20 only those products are qualified, who have a reseller width of at least two dealers groupings must have what represents at least the weekly at least two of the dealer groups in the sample a product of the relevant title sold, so it is for the dance charts qualify can.

Milestones

The German dance charts were introduced on May 15, 2015 as a weekly top 20 hit parade for singles . First work could rely Is not Nobody (Loves Me Better) from the German DJ Felix Jaehn and the British pop singer Jasmine Thompson put on the chart top. The singles can usually stay at the top of the chart for several weeks, the first title that had to clear the top of the chart after a week was Sigala's Easy Love in the chart week of November 13, 2015.
