German midweek charts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Midweekcharts are a series of chart evaluations by the market research company GfK Entertainment that are published weekly. They contain the most successful products in the German album , compilation and single charts after the first half of the sales week and are considered the official charts in Germany.

General information and qualification criteria

The German midweek charts are compiled by the German market research company GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Association of the Music Industry and are partly published by MTV . They record sales of image or sound carriers , downloads and music streaming and are determined in accordance with the rules of the album Top 100 , Compilation Top 30 and the single Top 100 for the cumulative period from Friday to Monday. Due to delays in the delivery of data from individual dealers, the database may differ slightly from the final position in the charts.

Milestones

The German midweek charts were introduced in the course of the “chart relaunch” on May 13, 2015 as a weekly top 100 hit parade for compilations , music albums and singles .

As the first work in the album midweek charts , Achter Tag by the German rap duo Genetikk was at the top of the chart. The German rapper Lance Butters with Blaow and the British rock singer Eric Clapton with Forever Man followed in second and third place . While the first two placements were able to hold up and also place themselves in the album Top 100 , Clapton had to give up a place and defeat the British folk rock band Mumford & Sons with their album Wilder Mind .

Among the singles, after the first four days of sales, the German DJ Felix Jaehn and the British pop singer Jasmine Thompson led the newly introduced chart evaluation with their new recording of Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) . In second place followed the Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies with Are You with Me , in third place the Americans Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth with See You Again . Ultimately, Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) prevailed in the end and took first place in the singles Top 100 . While Lost Frequencies also kept his position, See You Again had to give up a rank and surrender to Want to Want Me by US R&B singer Jason Derulo .

After the leaders of the album and single midweek charts of the first chart evaluation were also at the top of the chart at the end of the week, the respective leaders of the second chart evaluation on May 20, 2015 no longer managed to defend the top of the chart. In the midweek album category, German pop singer Lena topped the hit list with Crystal Sky , but at the end of the week the album had to be content with second place and defeat Mountain Man by Andreas Gabalier . With the singles, DSDS-Seiger Severino Seeger started the chart list with Hero of My Heart in the middle of the week . This slipped down to tenth place at the weekend, the top position was secured as in the previous week by Felix Jaehn and Jasmine Thompson.
