Ain't Nobody ( English for “There is nobody”) is a song by the US funk band Rufus , in cooperation with the US soul singer Chaka Khan . The piece is the first single from their first live album Stompin 'at the Savoy .
Creation and artwork
The song was written by Hawk Wolinski. The single was produced by Russ Titelman , the 89 remix version was co-produced by Frankie Knuckles . The song was originally arranged by Mark Linett, Wayne Yurgelun and Elliot Scheiner, the latter also mixed the piece. A remix version released in 1989 was arranged by Abdu Malahi and John Poppo and programmed by David Morales and Peter Swartz. The single was released and distributed under the music labels Warner Bros. Records and WEA Records . On the cover picture of the maxi single - in addition to the artist name and song title - a picture of Chaka Khan can be seen during a live performance.
Publication and promotion
Ain't Nobody was first released on the live album Stompin 'at the Savoy . However, the song is on the D-side, which only contains studio versions and no live recordings. The first release of the 7 "single took place in September 1983 in the United States. Of Is not Nobody many were regional maxi singles released, characterized by the number and selection of pages B differ. The music video for Ain't Nobody was filmed in black and white . You can mostly only see Khan's face while she sings the song. In between, small excerpts with dancing people can be seen, accompanied by the text of the song. The total length of the video is 4:01 minutes. Charts and chart placements
Ain't Nobody reached position nine in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the top 10 for two weeks and in the charts for 21 weeks. The single entered the German charts for the first time after the remix version was released in 1989. At the end of the year, Ain't Nobody placed 71st on the 1989 annual singles chart. In the UK, the single reached position six and stayed in the top 10 for six weeks and 25 weeks in the charts. In the United States, the single reached position 22 on the charts in 19 chart weeks. Furthermore, Ain't Nobody was number one on the US R&B charts.
For Rufus it is the first and so far only chart success in the single charts in all three countries. For Khan this is the first chart success in Germany, as well as the second in the United Kingdom and the 15th in the United States. It is her first Top 10 success in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) ( English for 'There is no one who could love me better') is a cover version of the original by Rufus feat. Chaka Khan by the German DJ Felix Jaehn , in cooperation with the British pop singer Jasmine Thompson . The piece is the first single from its Felix Jaehn EP and the third single from its debut I . The single was produced by Jaehn. The mastering took place under the direction of the Austrian sound engineer Nikodem Milewski . The single was released under the Island Records music label and distributed through Universal Music Publishing . The single was first published as a digital release on April 3, 2015. A physical sound carrier was released about three weeks later on April 21, 2015 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland . The maxi single is available as a 2-track single and includes Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) and the song I Do as the B-side .
background information
The Hamburg DJ Felix Jaehn became aware of the British singer Jasmine Thompson when he found her cover songs on her YouTube channel. He was immediately enthusiastic and contacted her. They stayed in touch via various social media platforms and worked on a new edition of Ain't Nobody , which Thompson released as a single back in 2013 and reached a chart position in the UK charts. First they uploaded their joint piece to SoundCloud , where it reached over 2.7 million views in a very short time. The piece also reached position one on Hype Machine and position six on Shazam Future hits. Due to these successes and the current hype of the two (Jaehn through the cheerleader remix and Thompson through Sun Goes Down ) a single was released.
Music video
The music video for Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) was filmed in Barcelona and premiered on April 10, 2015 on YouTube . The video shows the course of the day for a woman and a man. Both get up in the morning, have breakfast and prepare for the day. The man goes to a skate park with a longboard . The woman goes to her ballet lesson on a bicycle . On the way, the two meet in front of a café she is just coming out of, where he bumps into her from the longboard. He then meets with Jaehn in the skate park. She meets with Thompson after the ballet lesson. Both couples move through Barcelona together. Towards the end, Jaehn and Thompson meet, who are going to a rooftop party in a Smart ; on this the man and the woman meet again. The video ends with the two of them hugging each other. The video is 3:08 minutes in total. CC Steinmetz directed. To date, it has more than 319 million views on YouTube (as of September 29, 2018).
