Jasmine Ying Thompson (born November 8, 2000 in London ) is a British singer who became popular through her YouTube videos. The multi-instrumentalist mainly interprets cover versions of well-known hits. It became popular with an interpretation of Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody .

Jasmine Thompson is the daughter of a Chinese mother and an English father.

Jasmine Thompson founded the YouTube channel TantrumJas at the age of ten , on which she presented dance videos and cover versions of other artists. Your channel became very popular and today has over 3 million subscribers. Her first big hit on YouTube was a cover version of Naughty Boy's single La La La . There followed Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift as a duet with Gerald Ko, Let Her Go by Passenger and David Guetta's Titanium . In September 2013, their debut album Bundle of Tantrums was released as a self-production, followed by the Extended Play Under the Willow Tree . The single Ain't Nobody , a cover by Chaka Khan , reached number 32 on the UK charts. The song was used in a commercial for the Sainsbury’s supermarket chain .

In July 2014, Jasmine Thompson was the opening act for Cody Simpson on his UK acoustic tour. A cover of REMs Everybody Hurts followed in September , which was used in a trailer for the series EastEnders . At the end of 2014 Sun Goes Down appeared on Robin Schulz 's album Prayer . Together with Schulz, she appeared in an edition of the ultimate chart show .

In 2015 Ain't Nobody appeared again in a remix by German DJ Felix Jaehn . The single reached the top of the charts in Germany and Austria as well as top 10 positions in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. In Germany, the piece became a million seller, making it one of the best-selling singles in Germany . She also released her own single Adore in 2015 . Thompson stopped attending school in 2015 and is tutored by private tutors .

In 2016, Thompson covered the final song Mad World by the band Tears for Fears in the French sci-fi / action film "Ares - The Last Of Its Kind".
