(2018)

Felix Jaehn is the first extended play by the German DJ Felix Jaehn of the same name . To date, Jaehn has only published singles in his career. This mini-album is Jaehn's first sound carrier release that exceeds the length of a conventional single. The first full album was followed two years later I .

Creation and artwork

All songs on the album were written by different authors. Jaehn himself co-wrote three titles, which makes him the author with the most participations. The Russian - American songwriter Polina Goudieva, the American songwriter Jimmy Harry and the former Rufus -member David Hawk Wolinski make two investments each author. Furthermore, Tim Deal, Poppy Haddigan and Tonino Speciale contribute as authors of a single work. All pieces on the EP were produced by Jaehn. In Is not Nobody (Loves Me Better) him stood Deal and Book of Love Harry as co-producers to the side. The mixing and mastering took place under the direction of the Austrian sound engineer Nikodem Milewski . Deal (1 title) and Jaehn (3 titles) were involved in the programming. Jaehn was also responsible for the arrangement (2 tracks).

On the cover of the EP you can see - in addition to the artist name and song title - Jaehn pulling a jacket over his face. This is the same cover image as for the single Book of Love . It was shot by Nicolas Kantor .

content

All of the lyrics on the album are in English and, like the compositions, are written by different authors. Jaehn is distinguished by the most author participations. Musically, the songs move in the realm of deep and tropical house . The EP consists of three previously released studio recordings and two remixes. So this is a kind of mini compilation.

In Is not Nobody (Loves Me Better) is a cover version of the original Is not Nobody by Rufus feat. Chaka Khan from 1983. Jaehn is supported vocally by the British pop singer Jasmine Thompson . In Book of Love , Jaehn receives vocal support from Polina, who is also involved as the author of the piece. Jaehn himself only works as a DJ and instrumentalist (keyboard) in the background on all pieces. On the third studio recording, I Do , Jaehn is also supported by an unknown guest singer and by Tim Deal on keyboard. In contrast to the other two recordings, I Do was not released as an independent single. I Do was included as the B-side on Shine and Ain't Nobody (Loves Me Better) . All three studio recordings are also on Jähns Deübtalbum I find. The two included remixes come from the US DJ Prince Fox and the US DJ duo Phantoms.
