Prayer ( English for 'prayer') is the debut album by German DJ Robin Schulz .

Creation and artwork

When Prayer is largely a remix album with several new pieces of Robin Schulz, a result most of the songs were written by external composers and lyricists and the original artists; whereby Schulz appears three times as an author and thus participated in most of the plays in this capacity. The songs were mixed and mostly produced by Schulz. The album was released under the music labels Tonspiel and Warner Music Group . On the cover of the album - next to the artist name and the song title - a black and white portrait of Schulz can be seen against a red background.

Publication and promotion

Prayer was first published as a digital release on September 16, 2014. The release of a physical sound carrier followed across Europe on September 19, 2014. The album consists of 20 new remix and studio recordings. In addition to the regular album release, an " extended version " was released at the same time . This includes an additional studio recording, as well as four live recordings and a live video recording from the iTunes Festival in London 2014 . On the vinyl release for Extended Prayer , all titles are represented in extended versions or the so-called extended versions. The CD releases, however, only show the shortened radio versions . The piece Prayer was available as a pre-order bonus in the iTunes Store .

In order to promote the album, in addition to the appearance at the iTunes Festival 2014, a live appearance in the ultimate chart show followed . In the edition of the "Annual Charts 2014" he appeared together with Jasmine Thompson and their common hit Sun Goes Down .

content

The lyrics of the album are written in German and English. Musically, the songs move in a wide range of acoustics , dance-pop , folk-pop , R&B , etc., each combined with electronic influences . The remix versions were recorded and sung by the original artists.

Reviews

“The products of the Osnabrück boy are fluffy, harmonious and pleasantly poppy. Taking drugs, raining roses, that would suit a lot of people: Sch (n) ulz sets the booth pretty cheesy for the sun-dancing generation Swag. (…) Nice violin hooks and loose percussion on Schulzen's edit by Clean Bandits Rather Be quickly make the confusion about it disappear again in the white noise. (...) Lexer and Nico Pusch postulate: We Don't Have to Rake Our Clothes Off . This guest post should at least make one or the other groupie melancholy, musically, the track at least takes your shoes off. (...) Deephouse is Robin's main residence, Wrong can be cited as a prime example. Maybe a little too much children's piano, but with a relaxed mood and no showmanship, a beautiful song. (...) Robin Schulz has certainly earned his good reputation. Only the very strong pop impact and the associated greatest possible mass compatibility in his tracks should give some stomach ache. "

- Martin Tenschert from laut.de.
