Echo award 2015

The 24th echo award ceremony of the German Phono Academy took place on March 26, 2015 at Messe Berlin . The gala was moderated for the third time by Barbara Schöneberger and broadcast on the television station Das Erste . ECHO 2015 was awarded in 30 categories, including the first-ever “Best Interactive Act” category (for the most successful activity and interaction in the social media sector ), which Kollegah won. Andreas Bourani and Helene Fischer were among the most promising candidates, each nominated four times. Fischer won all four prizes and Bourani won one, the radio echo. DJ Robin Schulz entered the race with three nominations and ultimately won the ECHO as “Best Dance Act National”. Andreas Gabalier , Kollegah, Oonagh and the project Sing my Song - The Exchange Concert each won two echoes. Nana Mouskouri was awarded the Echo for her life's work, where she was recognized by Quincy Jones via video link . The broadcast began with a minute's silence for the 150 victims of the Germanwings flight 9525 , who were accompanied by Lindsey Stirling on the violin. The evening was dominated by Udo Jürgens , who died in 2014 and was the fifth artist (after Peter Alexander , Amy Winehouse , Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson ) to be inducted into the ECHO Hall of Fame.
