Echo Award 1997

The 6th Echo was awarded on March 6, 1997, as in the previous year in Hamburg in the Congress Center Hamburg . The Schlager and folk music categories were separated and only awarded once. Die Toten Hosen received two awards and were thus the winners of the evening. The event was broadcast for the first time by ARD . Axel Bulthaupt conducted the show .
