Shane Joseph (born July 23, 1981 in Brooks , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Joseph began his ice hockey career in 1999 in the US National Collegiate Athletic Association and played for the Minnesota State University team, Mankato . In the first two years, the Canadian played inconspicuously, but from 2001 he developed into one of the top performers. In the 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons Joseph scored the most goals, assists and points for the Mavericks . After he had exhausted the maximum time of five years that one can play at a university, the striker signed an amateur tryout contract with the Cleveland Barons from the American Hockey League , the then farm team of the San, at the end of the 2003/04 season Jose Sharks . With them he reached the divisional semi-finals of the play-offs for the Calder Cup . On June 27, 2004 Joseph signed his first professional contract with the San Jose Sharks from the National Hockey League . They sent him back to the barons. There he was still part of the regular squad, but never got the chance to prove himself in the NHL.

The attacker then joined the Augsburger Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League for the 2006/07 season . After consistently good performances, the then 26-year-old was consequently nominated for the 2007 DEL All-Star Game . At the end of the season he was the top scorer and top scorer of the Panthers. After another year in Augsburg , which finished Joseph again as the top scorer, the management of the DEG Metro Stars noticed him and was able to sign the Canadian for the 2008/09 season in Düsseldorf . He became runner-up with DEG after losing to Eisbären Berlin in the 2009 DEL final . After he also completed the 2009/10 season in Düsseldorf, his contract with the DEG Metro Stars was not extended. On May 10, 2010, the Iserlohn Roosters announced the Canadian's commitment. Joseph was supposed to take a central position on the offensive in Iserlohn and make it more dangerous.

In July 2011 he moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers .
