Echo award 2007
The Echo 2007 music prize of the German Phono Academy was awarded on March 25th in the Palais am Funkturm in Berlin . The award ceremony was moderated by Oliver Geissen and Yvonne Catterfeld , who were nominated themselves and also had a musical performance.
As every year, the event is particularly criticized by the press. In its Internet edition, the Stern writes of a "leisurely show evening from the seventies". In addition, RTL presented the show as a live broadcast at 8:15 p.m., although the award ceremony started at 6:00 p.m. The winners were determined by the sales of their publications from March 2006 to February 2007. The focus is not on artistic quality, but on commercial success.
