Echo award 1999
The 8th Echo was awarded on March 5, 1999 in Hamburg in the Congress Center Hamburg . The Schlager category was subdivided again, but this year there was no special response. Xavier Naidoo received the most of the evening with three awards. The event was broadcast by ARD . Kim Fisher hosted the show .
