Young Deenay
Fatima Napo aka Young Deenay (born January 14, 1979 in Holzminden ) is a former German rapper .
Life
Fatima Napo attended the Graf-Gottfried-Gymnasium (today Franz-Stock-Gymnasium) in Arnsberg . She studied psychology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and works as a psychologist in Berlin , among other places .
Her greatest success as a rapper was the single Walk on By (1997), which stayed in the charts for 14 weeks and climbed to number five there. On her single, Wannabe Your Lover (1998), she helped her then background singer Sasha to his career. With Sasha's first hit I'm Still Waitin ' the roles had already been swapped, Young Deenay only supported the song with short interludes. Further success failed to materialize for Young Deenay. Today she sings in the band Amma La Dogon.
In June 2008, Vdm Verlag published Napo's first book, An African Perspective of Psychology , in which it explains, based on the history of science, why Western psychology is unsuitable for understanding and explaining the experience and behavior of people of African origin.
