Ingo Appelt (2004)

Ingo Appelt (born April 20, 1967 in Essen ) is a German comedian .

Life

Appelt's mother Ilka was married to soccer player Günter Fürhoff from 1969 to 1980 ; Fürhoff was Ingo Appelt's stepfather. Appelt lived in Würzburg between the ages of 11 and 26 . After leaving school, he completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter at Siemens. Appelt was a union member of IG Metall and later became a full-time education officer for this union in Würzburg.

In 1989 he made his first appearance at the Federal Youth Conference of IG Metall, and has been a full-time comedian since 1993. He became familiar to a wider audience as a guest on the RTL Nachtshow , on RTL Saturday Night , in the Quatsch Comedy Club on ProSieben and with an appearance at the Arosa Humor Festival . He became known through the parody of the then Defense Minister Rudolf Scharping ( SPD ) and other celebrities such as Helmut Kohl , Michael Mittermeier , Gerhard Schröder , Til Schweiger and Herbert Grönemeyer . He is considered a representative of black humor .

He later came to ProSieben with his own weekly Ingo Appelt Show , which was discontinued at the end of November 2000 after eleven of the 13 planned episodes due to poor audience ratings and “taste derailment”. Appelt had kicked children's dolls away like footballs, which ended his career on television for the time being. Then it became quiet around him. A tour followed, and from 2002 his television appearances became more frequent again.

In September 2006 he became the new anchorman of the RTL comedy show Friday Night News . However, since the audience ratings for the show fell sharply, it was canceled on December 29 of the same year. In the ProSieben fairy tale adaptation by Hans im Glück , which was produced as part of the series Die Märchenstunde , Appelt played one of the leading roles alongside Christian Ulmen , Nora Tschirner and storyteller Thomas Fritsch . The first broadcast of Hans im Glück - Tauschrausch im Märchenwald was in September 2006 on ProSieben. In the episode Snow White - 7 Tips and a Horst , which ran in Season 4 in 2007, he was seen as a hunter.

From May 7, 2007 he moderated the comedy talk show u. A. wg - an answer is requested from Comedy Central . He played a supporting role in the film African Race - The Crazy Hunt for the Marakunda , which was broadcast by RTL in January 2008. In April and May 2008 he was seen in some episodes of the ProSieben program Noch Besserwissen - The great show of useless knowledge . From January 2010 he hosted the RTL 2 comedy program Fun Club - Comedystars live .

Appelt was a member of the 15th Federal Assembly , which met on March 18, 2012 and elected Joachim Gauck as the German Federal President . In August 2012 it became known that Appelt was being targeted by the Düsseldorf al-Qaida cell. During the evaluation of the documents, the names of celebrities who should serve as possible targets, including Appelt, were found.

From May 2013 he toured with the stage program Göttinnen . Since October 2013 he has been on the TV show Mario Barth Reveals! in which he and Mario Barth present cases of alleged tax waste. Appelt has been the presenter of the BR show Cabaret from Franconia since October 2014 . Since 2015 he has been touring Germany with his stage program Besser ... is better .

Ingo Appelt married Sonia Guha-Thakurta in Las Vegas in June 2016 . She was the bar manager of the Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin. He proposed to her from the stage at the 2015 German Comedy Prize , after thanking her for the award he had received for the best comedy show .
