The big cabaret festival
The big cabaret festival for cabaret, comedy and music has been taking place every summer in Berlin 's Die Wühlmäuse cabaret theater since 2001 .
The evening is intended as a gathering of cabaret artists and comedians - including a platform for “hand-picked” young talents.
Four prizes are awarded:
- Jury Prize: a five-person jury consisting of public figures selects its winner.
- Audience award: the theater audience chooses their winner live with ballot papers.
- Berlin Prize (since 2003): the prize is awarded as a “special theater prize”. A committee of theater employees (director, rbb , artistic director Dieter Hallervorden ) has determined the winner since 2006 (until 2005 the prize was awarded by the audience).
- Honorary Award (since 2007)
The jury and audience awards are each endowed with 2,000 euros.
The event will be broadcast live on rbb television .
