Ralf Maria Schmitz (born November 3, 1974 in Leverkusen ) is a German comedian , musician , presenter , actor , voice actor and author .

Life

Ralf Schmitz already took part in various theater performances during his school days at the District Administrator Lucas High School in Leverkusen-Opladen . After high school and community service , he completed an acting and classical dance training and took singing lessons.

Ralf Schmitz was part of the ensemble of the improvisational theater Die Springmaus in Bonn for four years . In 2003 he was voted “Newcomer of the Year” at the German Comedy Prize for his role in Die Dreisten Drei and was nominated for the Rose d'Or and the German Television Prize. In 2005 Schmitz was again nominated for the German Comedy Award, this time in the category “Best German Comedian”, but then won with Schillerstrasse in the category “Best German Impro Show”. In the same year he went on a tour of Germany with his first solo program Schmitz komm raus , which he continued the following year. The program was released in April 2006 on the live DVD Ralf Schmitz Live! recorded in the Theater am Tanzbrunnen in Cologne .

In Otto Waalkes ' cinema comedies 7 dwarfs - men alone in the forest and 7 dwarfs - The forest is not enough , which came out in cinemas in 2004 and 2006, Schmitz played the dwarf Sunny . From October 2016 to May 2018 his solo program was called Schmitzenklasse . Since October 2018 he has been on tour with his seventh Schmitzeljagd program .

Schmitz has been moderating the Take Me Out dating format on RTL since 2013 . In addition, Schmitz presented two editions of the game show The Boss Gets the Receipt in 2018 . In 2014, four episodes of an improv comedy show called Hotel Home: Please Disturb! produced on RTL. Schmitz took on the role of a hotel owner. 2018 is mischievous with Hotel - on your ears, get set, go! a similar successor format emerged. In addition, the sketch comedy show Schmitz & Family has been running since the beginning of 2019 , in which Ralf Schmitz deals with "the most varied areas of family life".
