Tell the truth ( english To Tell the Truth ) is a native to the United States originated game show that from 1959 several times in German television was launched and finally in a since 2003 by SWR is seen produced remake.
history
The television format was first shown in 1956 on American television under the title To Tell the Truth on the broadcaster CBS . In Germany, the program with the German title Sag die Truth was broadcast for the first time on ARD in 1959 . The show was moderated until it was discontinued in 1971 by Guido Baumann , Hans Sachs , Wolf Mittler and Hans Stotz . From 1986, a new edition of Sag die Demokratie was produced, which was broadcast until 1995 and moderated by Bernd Stephan and from 1992 by Gerd Rubenbauer . Both times the program was produced by Bayerischer Rundfunk .
Since 2003, the format has been produced by SWR together with the UFA Show and broadcast weekly on SWR and SR TV on Mondays at 10 p.m. The show is moderated by Michael Antwerpes . Other third programs broadcast repetitions.
From April 21, 2017, the program was shown in a modified form for 14 episodes on Fridays at 6:50 p.m. on Das Erste .

Game rounds
Normal game rounds
In a normal game round, three candidates claim to be a specific person. Each member of the four-person advice team has 45 seconds to ask all three candidates one after the other technical or personal questions. The order of the survey is reversed from round to round. After all surveys have been completed, there is a brief summary of the various answers. Then each member has to give a tip about who is really the person they are looking for. Then the puzzle is solved.
In these normal game rounds, it is common for male candidates to appear in one round and female candidates in the other. Occasionally, however, men and women can appear in a round.
Last game round
In the last round of the game, the four people who lied before appear again. One of them has a special quality, a special hobby, a special job etc. and talks about it. The other three tell a fictitious story. One of the liars sits across from each of the guessing team and after 30 seconds it has to be decided whether the other person is the right one or not. Then the puzzle is solved.
Advice team
Actress Ursula Cantieni , as well as entertainer Kim Fisher , comedian Mike Krüger , presenter Pierre M. Krause and musician Smudo from the Fantastischen Vier currently belong to the four-man team of advisors for the SWR editions of Sag die Truth .

Bodo Bach and Enie van de Meiklokjes have now switched to the advice team from the advice show Masters of Everyday Life , which was broadcast on SWR immediately afterwards . There was a special episode on New Year's Eve 2013: the advice team from Sag die Truth competed against the team from Meister des Everyday . The task was to solve the “secrets” of the respective advice team themselves.
